Deputy minister sees no 5G implementation in nearest future
MOSCOW, Jan 28 (PRIME) -- The 5G technology will not be launch soon, Russian Deputy Digital Development Minister Alexei Volin told reporters on Tuesday.
“I don’t expect the technology to be introduced soon,” Volin said, adding that he is quite skeptical about 5G omnipresence as mobile operators have not returned their investment in 3G and 4G.
“I don’t think today we’ll see massive consumption of drones and ‘smart’ fridges that need to get connected to a washing machine, and 5G will be needed for it. As to the rest, 4G, LTE suffices.”
